Vitor Roque returned to football with joy as he took to the pitch for Brazil U20s in a 3-2 friendly win over Mexico.
Brazilian striker Vitor Roque has revealed he is happy again after scoring twice as Brazil Under-20s beat Mexico 3-2 on Sunday.
Roque joined Barcelona from Atletico Paranaense in January but has struggled for game time under Xavi Hernandez despite the club changing manager Hansi Flick, with the 19-year-old struggling to make an impact in pre-season before being sent on a Promotion Ufabet one-year loan deal to Real Betis with the option to make it permanent or extend the loan.
The player had previously spoken out about Barcelona’s treatment of him unfairly, before reiterating that he was now revitalise after leaving the club.
‘I haven’t laughed in six or seven months,’ Roque said. ‘I would like to thank everyone from the Brazil national team who have been here this week and have made me feel alive again.’
‘It was a short time but I made the most of it. I joked and enjoyed myself, which is the most important thing. And when the game came, the goals came.’
Vitor Roque will be hoping he can continue in the goals with Betis. The forward made his debut as a substitute last time out against Real Madrid, with Betis due to return to action on Friday night in La Liga against Leganes.
