Arnau Tenas has confirmed that Barcelona did not offer him a new contract and decided to sign for PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Arnau Tenas, 23, has confirmed that he left Barcelona to sign for PSG last summer because the club did not offer him a new deal, Ufabet Sport reported on Monday.
Tenas, who came through the La Masia academy, is consider one of the club’s future first-choice goalkeepers, with Barcelona having the option to extend his contract by two more years, with the current deal due to expire on June 30, 2023, but the Blaugrana ultimately decided not to exercise it, considering the player’s salary was not in line with the club’s financial situation.
It was previously report that Barcelona tried to negotiate with Tenas’ representatives to extend the player’s contract, until the 23-year-old goalkeeper ยูฟ่าเบท confirmed that the club would not offer him a new deal, before opting to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer until 2026, and play a key role in leading Spain to gold at the 2024 Olympics.
‘I left Barca because the club didn’t offer me a new contract,’ Tenas reveals. ‘I will sign whatever the club offers me, even a loan if they want.’
Continuing, Tenas insisted that he would have signed any contract that Barcelona would have offered and would have been open to leaving the club on loan after renewing as well. However, an offer never arrived.
